#33 Alice Leonz & Ronggowisnu Prihadi

We visited with two wonderful people from Indonesia, Alice and Ron, who are complete darlings! We loved talking and laughing with them so much!
Alice is so full of joy that she bubbles over in smiles and laughter that is genuinely from her hert.  She says that we are supposed to be happy!  What a great concept!  She said to always smile not matter how life may put you down because things will soon change again and get better.  Don’t be stuck feeling and thinking down but stand tall and keep smiling!  Ron seems to think we may look suspicious if we smile too much!  We had a great time talking with this wonderful couple and we know you will enjoy the conversation as well as we discuss with them their featured piece entitled, “Smile When You’re Not Happy.”

Hey will you tell me
what makes the cloud
covering your sweetie face
looks like the rain
on it's way to fall
but it's not too late
to let the sun
bring up a little smile
forget the time
just for a while
breath the air and smile
when you're not Happy

Scriptures from Interview
I Samuel 1:18
“18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.” (KJV)
Our “countenance” is our outward appearance.  She was sad but when she heard one small good word her countenance was lifted and was no longer sad.  We also help others when we give them words of encouragement.

I Samuel 16:7
“7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD see’s not as man see’s; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.” (KJV)
People may only see what we show on the outside, but God see’s and knows all about us.

Psalm 42
“1As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?” (NASB)
We can go through dry or low times desiring relief.  The true relief comes from the Lord.

Philippians 4:7-9
“ 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.” (NASB)
There are times when our thoughts will drift to what brings us down, but its good for us to use the above scripture as a “funnel of love.”  Is what you are thinking true?  It may be true but it is honorable?  Is it right?  Is it pure?  Is it lovely?  Is it of good report….?  Take time to think on what is good and let your heart be lightened.  :)

John 14:2-3
“2 There are many rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this were not so, I would tell you plainly. 3When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” (NLT)

Revelation 21:4
“4 He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils are gone forever.” (NLT)
It is good for us to think of what we can look forward to and not just on the problems that are around us in the world now.  We can smile now for the promises He has made for us.

Mark 13:36
“36 Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. What I say to you I say to everyone: Watch for his return!”  (NLT)
Some people really do want to sleep and some want to stay awake because they are looking the New Day and praying for it to come.

Matthew 13:9
“9 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand!” (NLT)
Those who stay awake can understand it better.  The people in a sleepy state cannot understand what God is trying to show us all.

Matthew 7:14
“14 But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.”
Yes we have to be awake and walk in the way, not just sit or wander in same spot all our lives. Doing what is right calls for action to walk on the good way, the way which will be narrow and not promised to be easy, but it is worth it!
