#44 1 Year Anniversary Special

It’s One Year!  Today we invited all of our former guests from the past year to join us for our special One Year Anniversary episode!
Our format for today was a bit different in that we “pulled topics from the hat” and randomly assigned them to our guests who were able to join us!  This idea was presented to us by David Barclay, who we had join us as a fellow host for the day!  Thank you, David!  We started off talking about gifts and talents with Anmafean, to talking about the love of God with Milana and Arty, and The Prodigal Son with Martin all of the other topics we have written below! We did have audio difficulties at times, and unfortunately had to make some edit cuts, so we apologize if anything seems not to flow so well at different points, and some we had to cut a little short because of the audio difficulties.  About the first 15 minutes of the audio is still a little difficult to listen to, but we hope you will hang in there for some great discussions with our wonderful guests!  We thank you all for supporting us and being with us this past year and hope to see and talk to more of our wonderful friends and artists from around the world!  Thank you from the Treasure Vessels team, Jonathan Sautter, Manasseh Nand and me too!  :)

SCRIPTURES FROM INTERVIEW

Gifts and Talents:

Matthew 7:7-11
7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Romans 11:29
29 for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable

I Corinthians 12:8
8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;

Judas:

John 13:29
29 For some were supposing, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus was saying to him, “Buy the things we have need of for the feast”; or else, that he should give something to the poor.

Acts 1:16
16 “Brethren, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit foretold by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus.

Feeding The Poor:

I Samuel 2:7
“The Lord makes poor and rich;
He brings low, He also exalts.

Psalms 72:12-13
12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.

The Love of God:

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever belives in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Prodigal Son:

Luke 15:11-32
11 And He said, “A man had two sons. 12 The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them.13 And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. 14 Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. 15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. 17 But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! 18 I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.”’ 20 So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; 23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; 24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.
25 “Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28 But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. 29 But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; 30 but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ 31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’”

Being Perfect:

I John 4:18
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

Matthew 5:48
48 Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Importance of Believing:

Proverbs 23:7
7 For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he…

Turning Water into Wine:

John 2:1-11
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; 2 and both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4 And Jesus said to her,“Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.” 5 His mother *said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” 6 Now there were six stone waterpots set there for the Jewish custom of purification, containing twenty or thirty gallons each. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” So they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter.”So they took it to him. 9 When the headwaiter tasted the water which had become wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom, 10 and said to him, “Every man serves the good wine first, and when the people have drunk freely, then he serves the poorer wine; but you have kept the good wine until now.” 11 This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana ofGalilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him.
