#38 MattBaker1970

We were pleased today to visit Liverpool and talk with our new friend, Matt Baker. He told us how music and art are creative gifts which he has been fortunate to use throughout his life.
It gives him great joy when he is able to use these gifts to bring happiness to others. Matt says it’s not about money, but a smile. He talked about how music was a way for him to get away from the pressures of day to day life and described it as a type of escapism where he can reflect on his day and the world we live in.  Matt is a good writer and composer and he met up with John Styles who has his hand in helping the production of today’s featured track.  Often having a specific theme in mind for his music, Matt is working on a Legends sound set inspired by heroic characters and stories.  Today we discussed one the characters in an epic symphonic orchestral piece he named “Galahad.”

Lead Scripture:
Revelation 2:10
"Remain faithful even when facing death, and I will give you the crown of life."
Remaining faithful in our everyday life is even more challenging than facing death.  All of us have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.  Only Jesus is without sin and perfectly faithful in all things.

Feature Tune and Discussion Topic
GALAHAD

Galahad was the natural son of Elaine & Launcelot. As a child he was placed in a nunnery.
One day a sword in a stone was seen in a river by Arthur's knights, and it was said that only the world's best knight could pull out the sword. Galahad was led into Arthur's court where he sat in the Siege Perilous and then drew the sword out. It was later on when the Grail appeared in a vision at Arthur's court that Galahad was chosen as one of the three knights to undertake the Quest for the Holy Grail.
Galahad was always known as the "Perfect Knight". He was "perfect" in courage, gentleness, courtesy, and chivalry.
“Never shall man take me hence but only he by whose side I ought to hang; and he shall be the best knight of the world.”

Scriptures from Interview
Carolyn shares:

Psalm 51:5
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
These words were written by King David, who himself also sinned with Bathsheba who later became one of his wives and the mother of King Solomon.  In this way the story of the birth of Galahad is reminiscent of both David and Solomon.

Luke 2:49
And he said unto them, How is it that you looked for me?  Didn’t you know that I must be about my Father’s business?
In the story of Galahad it is mentioned that he was raised up in a nunnery.  In the real life of Jesus he spent much of his time in the local synagogue.  When they traveled to Jerusalem he spent his time in the temple.  When his parents looked for him he supposed that they should have know where he was.

Psalm 16:10
For you will not leave my soul in hell; neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption.
Jesus is the only one who died and rose from the dead by his own power.  He did this with purpose, to save our sins.  In Galahad’s story he was the only one who could sit in the seat of death without dying.  Jesus is alive forever!  Amen!

Revelation 1:16
And he had in his right hand seven stars:  and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and His countenance was as the sun shining in his strength.
Galahad drew the sword from the stone.  Jesus fights with the sword of his mouth, and there is no weapon that can stand against him!

Mark 1:12-14
12 And immediately the spirit drove him into the wilderness.  13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him.  14  No after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
Galahad first set off alone before he went to search for the Holy Grail.  His story is mirrors so much the real life of Jesus Christ who first set off alone in the wilderness for forty days before he set off to preach repentance to the lost and to heal people and perform miracles, and to die for our sins and rise again from the dead.  It is also a good thing for us to do, to first spend our time alone with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ before we set off to our work.

Mark 15:39-47
39 And when the centurion, who stood by over against him, saw that he so gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
40 And there were also women beholding from afar: among whom were both Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
41 who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him; and many other women that came up with him unto Jerusalem.
42 And when even was now come, because it was the Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath,
43 there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a counselor of honorable estate, who also himself was looking for the kingdom of God; and he boldly went in unto Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
44 And Pilate marveled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
45 And when he learned it of the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph.
46 And he bought a linen cloth and taking him down, wound him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of a rock; and he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.
Joseph of Arimathaea in in the story of Galahad.  Joseph was a real person and the very man who laid the body of Jesus in his own tomb.  Again here, the fictional story of Galahad contains much from the real life of Jesus, the one who is King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever!

Revelation 5:9
And they sing a new song, saying, Worthy are You to take the book, and to open the seals:  for You were slain and did purchase unto God with your blood men of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation.
Jesus is the only one worthy to open the seals of the scrolls.  In the story of Galahad he was the only one who could remove the sword from the stone.

Revelation 19:16
And he has on his garment and on his thight a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Manasseh’s thoughts through scriptures:
We all are like knights in this world, fighting with evil. We all have this fight inside us between good and evil. We all can fight evil if we all have the perfect strong armor and shield.

Ephesians 6:15
Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Romans 13:11
The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So don’t live in darkness. Get rid of your evil deeds. Shed them like dirty clothes. Clothe yourselves with the armor of right living, as those who live in the light.

A word about sword from scriptures:
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.

2 Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his glorious return.

Proverbs 2:1-4
My child, listen to me and treasure my instructions. 2 Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. 3 Cry out for insight and understanding. 4Search for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure.
To find hidden treasures of the most high we need to look for it. In this world we are lost in looking for the worldy treasures and in the process we miss on the most precious treasure, the wisdom from God.

May God bless you all with your work and music you're all sharing with us all :-)
