Smiling and full of great attitude, the love of God for life and for others definitely shines through this interesting man. Helmut had much to share about finding his rest in God alone. He talked about how we all as humans are searching for rest and peace. We search through many things in the world but true and lasting peace comes from accepting and receiving the love of God, our Heavenly Father who wants to bring us into His rest. Helmut said, “we need to become like little children to love and to be able to receive love.” And so we shared this discussion and also talked about true joy as we listened to his music and his featured joyful piece titled, “Jungle Extasy”.

Lead Scripture:
Psalm 62:1
“ My soul finds rest in God alone.”
There is only One where we can find
true rest for our souls, and only one source for true joy.
1 My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3 How long will you assault a man?
Would all of you throw him down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 They fully intend to topple him
from his lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse. Selah
5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[a];
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge. Selah
9 Lowborn men are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie;
if weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion
or take pride in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.
11 One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,
12 and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Surely you will reward each person
according to what he has done.
Scriptures from Interview
Psalm 62:1
“1My soul finds rest (or waits upon) God alone. My salvation comes from him.”
When we need rest, we cannot neglect the rest we need in our soul, and that can only be found in trusting in and relying on, leaning on God.
Psalm 60:11
“Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.”
Call upon God for only he can truly help us.
Psalm 62:9
“Low born men are but a breath, the high born are but a lie; if weighed in a balance they are nothing. Together they are only a breath.”
To put our trust in the strength or peace from man is vanity. It is useless and only temporary at best.
Psalm 25:15
“15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net..”
Always look to God. He is the One who loves us and saves us.
Psalm 27:1
“1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
We can face everything in life and not fear when we walk with and trust the Lord.

Psalm 62:5
“3 Find
hope O my soul in God alone, my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my
salvation. He is my fortress I will not
be shaken (or moved).”
When we are down we
often have to remind ourselves to look to God.
We need to say the truth to ourselves not just for reassurance but
because it is true and it builds up our faith and makes the eyes of our heart
look to God. Tell your soul “find hope
in God.”
Psalm 60:11
“Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.”
Call upon God for only he can truly help us.

“1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
We can face everything in life and not fear when we walk with and trust the Lord.
There is much scripture
we can find that tells us not to put our trust in the strength of horses, or
our accomplishments, or the works of our hands, or money. When it all comes down to it – we cannot
leave this world with anything !! – but GOD!
God’s word is true. He said he would never leave us or forsake
us. He is with us always. He always hears us. He knows our thoughts and our feelings. Our souls can only find rest, peace, strength
and salvation in God alone.
