#01 Martin L

In our discussion Martin speaks on the thoughts behind the writing of these words pertaining to his personal life and recognizing we all have similar thoughts and experiences.
Towards the end of the tune he puts in a little twist that makes us wonder exactly what is on his mind.  We hope you will listen here or watch the video on the link for our interview with Martin L on his tune “Love Can’t Be A Sin.”

Lead Scripture:
1 Corinthians 13:4-9a
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails and lasts forever.
Love is…

LYRICS
LOVE CAN’T BE A SIN

I can`t believe it could be a sin (x4)
I know true love can`t be a sin (x3)
I know true love…
My world is getting down
My head is spinning round
I`m afraid I will lose my mind
I will lose my mind
I know true love can`t be a sin (x2)
I know true love
Can`t be a sin

There’s no prayer left to use
All my cheats have been abused
My head is still confused
There’s no more way to choose
There’s no more chance to grab for gold
It’s a story been untold
I know I’ve been betrayed
And I’ve been sold
But I can’t believe it could be a sin
I can’t believe it could be a sin (x3)
I know true love can’t be a sin (x3)
I know true love! I know true love!
I know true love can’t be a sin
Together forever can’t be a sin (repeat x3)
I know true love! I know true love!
Forgive me all my sins!
Forgive me all my crime!
Give me reason!
Give me rhyme!

Scriptures from Interview:
John 14:30-31 (NIV)

30 I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, 31 but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me.
Sometimes we do not fully understand love.
Mark 14:32-3632 They went to a place called Gethsemane, and Jesus said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” 33 He took Peter, James and John along with him, and he began to be deeply distressed and troubled. 34 “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them. “Stay here and keep watch.”35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Fully God and fully man, Jesus suffered emotionally and in his thoughts and prayers over what he knew he was about to endure for us.

Matthew 26:14-16  (and 19-23)
14 Then one of the Twelve—the one called Judas Iscariot —went to the chief priests 15 and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty pieces of silver. 16 From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over
Jesus was betrayed, as was written that would happen to him.

Mark 15:33-34 (NIV)
33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
Suffering again in his heart, his soul, his mind, as the gaze and presence of the Father left him for the very first time.  For Jesus had taken all of our sins upon himself.  He was the true sacrifice of God in our place.

John 10:17 (NIV)
17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life —only to take it up again.
But … He rose again!  He is alive forever more!  Our Father God loved him because he did all of this suffering for love.  For love of the Father, for love of us, and he also believed and knew he would rise again.  Now all we have to do is believe, accept what he has done and receive.  We are saved by his life and God’s Love!  Amen!  :)
