#40 - Lee >>> Lucas

We were so pleased today to finally get to meet face to face and talk with, Lee Lucas, our faithful and talented friend!  Lee is a very thoughtful person who is a great inspiration and support to so many of the artists on SoundCloud.
In our interview with Lee today we had a little bit of difficulty staying on task because there were so many directions for each of us to take in the discussion!  Nevertheless, we really enjoyed all of the interesting things we talked about!  Lee let us know that the feature tune today is a song he wrote the music for in 2011 but completed the lyrics just this year in January.  It is part of a concept album he is making based on a fictitious story he wrote about a man and his wife and child.  The album is not finished but we are sure it will be a great production when it is completed as well as an interesting story!  The words of this tune brought us into many levels of discussion which we believe you will enjoy as we discuss Lee’s wonderful song today, “Dreams in the Rain.”

Lead Scripture:
Psalm 37:40
The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves
them because they take refuge in Him.
The Lord saves us because we trust him and we go to him to be saved.  Whoever turns to Jesus will be saved.

LYRICS
DREAMS IN THE RAIN

He wakes up in the morning things are not quite what they seem,
he looks out the bedroom window thinking it was all just a dream.
But as he rushes down the stairs and finds he's still alone,
with no one there to comfort him in his unsettled home.

He makes a cup of coffee his mind is not quite what it seems,
it wonders off in lucidity and sees most unexpected things.
Dreams in the rain.

By now he's in his garden he's looking all forlorn,
he don't know where he's going but he's seen it all before.
But as the rain that's falling starts to seep inside his brain,
his mind begins to wonder unexpectedly again.
Dreams in the rain.
Dreams in the rain.

MONU notes & scriptures:
Monu says: dreams comes through God, as its written in the scriptures. Inception (the movie) is also a good example of how humans like to stay in their own dream far from reality. God sends dreams and visions so we all can get closer to Him but instead we make our own dreams and go more far from our heavenly Father. The movie Matrix is also a good example of how the evil controlled people and made them live in a dream which looked so beautiful but in the end it turned to be fake, keeping everyone far from the reality. Same way evil is covering our eyes so we may dream and miss the truth going around. That’s why Jesus came to remove that curtain from our eyes and gave us hope, we will not end up like how we see in all these movies, because Jesus has promised to end the evil. Religion is one big dream by evil, covering this whole world. Religion was never a part of God’s plan. God wants to show us that He is our father, not a ruler. Religion makes rules, traditions. God makes relationship of a Father-child relation. Religion teaches us to follow the rule (manmade), God our father is just trying to discipline us with Love, not with rules of force or brainwash. We have our own free will of choice to choose Him or choose our own dreams with no meaning and no hope.

Numbers 12:6
And the Lord said to them, “Now listen to me! Even with prophets, I the Lord communicate by visions and dreams.

Joel 2:28-29
“Then after I have poured out my rains again, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions. 29In those days, I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, men and women alike.

Job 8:13
Such is the fate of all who forget God. The hope of the godless comes to nothing.

Carolyn notes & scriptures:
In this discussion I spoke of Dennis & Dr. Jen Clark and their teaching “Practicing God’s Presence 24/7” Here are two links to their websites:  www.forgive123.com and www.kingdomlifechurch.us

I spoke a little in the discussion about our true selves.  We are not just a body, but we are spirit, and we our housed in our body.  I had thought of these things before and then ran across their teaching.  When I did my studies to prepare for our discussion I felt led to share a little bit on our interview with Lee today.

Scriptures from Interview
Psalm 37:4-6
4 Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your judgment as the noonday.
What do our hearts desire?  God really knows and he wants to give good things to us.  When we commit our ways to the Lord then he will do it.  The righteousness is Jesus who died to save us from our sins.  When we confess our sins to God then God puts his righteousness upon us.  We exchange our sinfulness and the payment for sin (death) for Jesus’ sinless life.  He died in our place so we could live.  Then when we face judgment in the light of God we will not fear for Jesus took the punishment we deserved, and we do not have to fear.

Psalm 37:37
Mark the blameless man and behold the upright; for the man of peace will have a posterity.
We are only made blameless through Jesus, and he gives us peace.  We are flawed humans; we have both good and bad inside of us.  The upright is the one who’s heart is concerned with pleasing God.  This does not mean the person never fails or sins or makes mistakes.  We are all human and God knows our weaknesses.  That is why he sent Jesus to save us.

Psalm 25:15
My eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Always look to God.  He is the One who loves us and saves us.
The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves
them because they take refuge in Him.

Matthew 1:21b
…His name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
Romans 10:13
For “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
The Lord saves us because we trust him and we go to him to be saved.  Whoever turns to Jesus will be saved.

Psalm 26:2
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my reins and my heart.
God does allow us to go through trials and temptations, not to prove to him who we are, but to show us our true selves.  When we experience difficulties then we will see by our own actions and thoughts that we are not perfect.  When we realize our sins and imperfections then we will realize we need Jesus to save us.
