#09 The Sandman's Orchestra

Lean on me…you won’t be lost”, the words and hauntingly beautiful music of Pierre Laplace take us deep into thought as to the meaning behind this song.
With the amazing depth of emotion coming through the beautiful voice of his niece, Léonie Gabriel, this song reaches every one of us everywhere.  This song was written with great care and dedication and we are privileged to share in this conversation with Pierre as he opens up with some personal thoughts, emotions and meaning behind the writing of the masterful work in his song, “You Won’t Be Lost.”

LYRICS
YOU WON'T BE LOST
Writte by:  Pierre Laplace
Vocals:  Léonie Gabriel and Pierre Laplace

he hides away inside his room
and nobody's here to watch or listen
some people say he's just a fool
and has no sense of what is real

outside the flowers are all in bloom
children on swings are in heaven
so many trails for you to choose
but you've forgotten what is dear to you

lean on me
come closer
close your eyes
you won't be lost

I walk alone into the room
I feel a void wider than the ocean
a cloud appears out of the blue
your mind's forever out of reach

you're half asleep in the gloom
I crack a joke and you smile at me
and now I'm left without a clue
but these are the moments I want to steal

lean on me
come closer
close your eyes
you won't be lost

your loneliness keeps haunting me
like a wolf howling at my door
the tenderness and love that I feel
won’t be hidden anymore

your face reminds me of the moon
so pale and so hard to decipher
a quiet voice whispers and croons
that I should take you out of here

lean on me
come closer
close your eyes
you won't be lost

Scriptures from Interview
Psalm 139:  1-4
1 “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.”
Though we may hide ourselves away from others, God knows all about us

John 9:1-7
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
This man was born blind, but by faith he did what Jesus told him to do, and he received his sight.

Acts 9:17-18
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
Like the man who was born blind in John 9, or Paul before he was touched by the Lord.  We also cannot see past the veil or the scales of the physical world into the spiritual world without God touching us.

Mark 12:30
30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment.
As children we have a natural faith and affection for God…

Revelation 2:4
Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
…but too often, as we grow older we forget this love…and we need to return to him.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
It takes faith and trust in God to hold his hand, and he is the Good Shepherd and we can trust him.  Faith is the confidence assurance that what we hope for is going to happen.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
It is about faith, that in our limited capacity, we would trust him and believe his word that he will give us rest and help us…and we can take his  hand and follow him and let him lead us out of here!

Proverbs 14:10
“the heart knows its own bitterness; and a stranger does not intermeddle with his joy.”
We may have some understanding of what others go through, but each person is uniquely precious to God…

Hebrews 13:5
5”Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, or forsake you.”
…and only Jesus experiences all things this with us and never leaves us.

Matthew 13:44-46
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; which when a man found it, he hid it, and for joy of the treasure he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
Jesus is not only like the man who sold everything he owned to go and buy the pearl of great price….he is the One who did it…

John 10:11
“I am the Good Shepherd: the Good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep.”
We are that treasure hidden in a field, we are that pearl of a great price, we are treasures hidden in vessels made of the dust of the earth, and Jesus is the one who came and found us in the dark!  He gave all he had, his life, to pay the ransom for our salvation, for eternal life with him and to give us his peace even right now when we believe and ask and receive.

Psalms 68:6a
“God sets the lonely in families: he brings out those which are bound with chains…”
Because of God’s love he seeks to take us by the hand and lead us to a good place.

Matthew 19:26
26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”

Great Selection of Bible verses.Certainly God does marvelous things in our life. Sometimes we are unaware of His acts but He certainly cares for us no matter where we are and how we are.

I strongly believe that no problem and nobody in this universe is greater than God, this gives me a lot more confidence and strength to face every challenge in my day to day life. May God bless everyone who reads this. - Mark Paik
